Steve Jobs..”BE HERE NOW”

Steve job was there at the right time and right place? Is this the reason for his success? I doubt this very much. The whole success can’t be contributed solely to that factor.
Jobs co- founded apple in 1976 , had a successful career till 1985 and then booted out of the company in a long power struggle. Not to give up ,with some of his colleagues in apple he started Next , he merges Next with Apple An opportunity he explored.
He didn’t have ego issues there to go back. Purely based on merit he made them to come back. Imp lesson to all of us to learn.

DON’T LET EGO DESTROY YOU

PROBLEM PROBLEMS..YES.

He had plenty. Jobs was adopted by Paul and Clara who themselves had their own share of problems and tough financial situations. He was smart and intelligent for his age and was disinterested to continue his studies. He was a socially awkward loner and often bullied by fellow mates. He learnt Calligraphy later. He broke with his first girl friend of many years and had a tiring time till he met Laurene.

Jobs travelled to India in 70’s in search of himself. He stayed in Neem Karoli Baba ashram in search of spiritual enlightenment. Jobs claims that he used LSD, a drug, which causes auditory/ visual changes, altered state of consciousness level. Steve also says that this experiment is one of the two or three important things in his life. He engaged in lengthy meditations in US later

I TOO FEEL THAT SEARCHING WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT YOU WANT IS AN IMPORTANT EXERCISE ONE SHOULD DO IN LIFE.

In a 2005 commencement speech at Stanford University, Jobs stated that during this period, he slept on the floor in friends’ dorm rooms, returned Coke bottles for food money, and got weekly free meals at the local Hare Krishna temple. In that same speech, Jobs said:

“IF I HAD NEVER DROPPED IN ON THAT SINGLE CALLIGRAPHY COURSE IN COLLEGE, THE MAC WOULD HAVE NEVER HAD MULTIPLE TYPEFACES OR PROPORTIONALLY SPACED FONTS.

“HE WAS VERY OFTEN THE SMARTEST GUY IN THE ROOM, AND HE WOULD LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT.”

Jobs liked wearing turtle neck T shirt with Levi’s jeans which he felt as uniform as well as a signature brand.
Steve jobs is a complex personality. He fathered Lisa with Brennan ,whom he refused to acknowledge though he discussed the name with her. He refused to accept her as his child and then courts ordered for DNA test.
He was sensitive enough not to find his biological mother till his adopted mother was alive. Though he apologised to Brennan and Lisa for not taking care of them
Jobs stated that he was motivated to find his birth mother out of both curiosity and a need “to see if she was okay and to thank her, because I’m glad I didn’t end up as an abortion.
Schieble, his biological mother was emotional during their first meeting and told him that she had been pressured into signing the adoption papers. She said that she regretted giving him up and repeatedly apologized to him for it.
In his official biography, Isaacson reveals that the relationships between Jobs and his children was not all that idyllic. Although he had a special relation with his son Reed, the same apparently cannot be said of his daughters. He often had arguments with his first daughter Lisa, his child with Brennan; he apparently did not pay much attention to Erin, his second, quiet daughter; but he liked the strong will and temper of his youngest child, daughter Eve.

PEOPLE FROM BROKEN MARRIAGES, TERRIBLE CHILDHOOD, AND LONERS DO HAVE PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES.

IT WAS NOT AT ALL A ROSY FAMILY LIFE. SOMEWHERE ONE FEELS HE WAS SELFISH BECAUSE OF HIS PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES.

On August 24, 2011, Jobs announced his resignation as Apple’s CEO, writing to the board, “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”

MY TWO CENTS: STEVE JOBS DIDN’T HAVE ANY ROLE WHEN HIS MOTHER PUT HIM FOR ADOPTION BUT HE DEFINITELY COULD HAVE TREATED LIFE DIFFERENTLY. A STRONG BALANCE IN PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE IS SUCCESS.

CONCLUSION: SUCCESS IS NOT RELATED TO ONLY MONEY.DAY IN AND DAY OUT IF YOU ARE HAPPY YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL.
